"My wife and I started Lee’s online zoom workouts at the beginning of the UK’s imposed coronavirus lockdown measures in March. Since then we’ve subscribed to his running strength and conditioning workouts each Wednesday, as well as the flexibility, mobility and stretching sessions on Saturday morning.

The workouts so far have been brilliant for us. They’re friendly, easy to follow along with, perfectly pitched in terms of complexity of movement, and Lee is able to add further challenge to the exercises to anyone who wishes. We’ve absorbed so many tips and invaluable advice already (and we consider ourselves competent, experienced runners/cyclists). I think a lot of runners completely ignore strength work and rehab, preferring just to run continuously until they’re injured or burn out; we now fully appreciate how many of those ‘niggles’ can be avoided completely with a bit of physical preparation and by looking after your body properly. Lee’s workouts really target running specific issues, as well as correcting some ‘working from home’ postural weaknesses that can creep in. "Having been trained by Lee in the Oakfield Gym for a couple of years, I was keen to keep things going during the lockdown to support Lee but also try and maintain at least some level of fitness.    With the need to travel with work removed for now, I have actually had more regular sessions than I did before.   We have the same routine over Facetime as we did face-to-face and I am pleasantly surprised at how well it has worked.    With minimal or no gym equipment it is possible to train at the same level of intensity as I was doing before by focussing on specific muscle groups and then getting the cardio sorted out by running and cycling.

Personal Training - 1-2-1 in Person


"I have been training with Lee since February after starting to take control of my habits in January after just being totally fed up with my weight and general lack of energy. At the beginning of this journey my starting weight was around 104kg.

With Lee's expert guidance and considered attention to detail on my plan each week between February and July I had managed to shift about 28kg and since then I have been maintaining a healthy weight of around 76kg. I am so much more flexible, energetic, happier and generally in much better shape than when I started, along with being able to recover from periods of exercise incredibly quickly!! I have now achieved all of my short term goals, I am currently maintaining my weight while working on long term goals of increasing overall fitness and strength with Lee's help.

I was able to meet up with Lee once a week, run through the various different exercises that would be in my own personally tailored plan and then execute in my own time during the week with my own limited set of equipment at home. All of the exercises were crafted with what I had available to me at home and was honestly surprised at how much you can do with very little and how effective some seemingly simple movements are! I found Lee to be very resourceful and creative when it comes to being able to do quality training in various scenarios. I had considered joining a gym, but I just haven't had any need to with this training regime.

Even during the current Covid epidemic, Lee has very swiftly switched to providing the same excellence in PT services via video call which quite honestly is just as effective if not better than attending the studio in person. He is still perfectly able to describe and demonstrate the new movements alongside assessing my progress all via what was effectively a new medium for him to deliver training from, which is outstanding.

One of the great things about Lee is that he is able to provide an empathetic level of encouragement, he understands that we are all human and cannot be perfect all of the time, along with being completely different in the way we improve. There is no aggression, just consistent calm, constructive and positive reinforcement, which goes a long way towards helping people succeed.I would without question, highly recommend Lee's services as a PT to anyone. "Lee was recommended by a friend.  He has now been training me for over 3 years and thanks to him, I am not only fitter than I have been before, but also stronger and have improved my balance and co- ordination.  Lee’s exercise programmes are tailored for each client, and he keeps a careful note of all that we do, and makes a very varied plan each time, so it’s never boring.  Though at times the work is hard, he increases the workload gently and you are never unable to do something that is set.  Lee will never allow you to do any exercise unless you can do it correctly, and he always checks posture and that the correct muscles are being used. Lee is very able to adjust his programme to fit your particular need on the day, and always asks how I am in case there are any niggles or anything that needs to be avoided.  We are always training for my sport, which is ski touring and mountaineering.  So our programme is very different from what others are doing in the gym.  

Lee is also a trained sports masseur and enjoys yoga, so can always help to release tight muscles through manipulation or stretching. Oakfields is such a small and friendly gym.  I have got to know all the trainers and everyone is super friendly. They have lots of great equipment, which is usually used for effort training, but the focus is on free weights and doing exercises that you would not normally do on your own in the gym.  I do a lot of balance work on the Bosu ball.  The Ski Erg machine is a real bonus for me and boxing is great fun.

I now see him for an hour a week and he can take a lot of the credit for the results I have achieved. From the outset, he worked around my abilities and physical limitations. "Despite my stories of sporting prowess to my children, they were becoming all the more unbelievable by my body shape, fitness levels and niggling back pain. Combine that with a job that was increasingly restricting my exercise opportunities and some awkward holiday photos on the beach it was clearly time to take action.

I approached Lee Weston / Oakfields with a remit of wanting to lose weight, be fitter, have more energy, change my eating habits and untick many of the boxes for a heart attack. Oh and being able to run around in the garden or on the beach a little more thus making those stories more believable.
